For many runners, the true adventure begins exactly where the asphalt ends. But to be fully prepared for an adventure away from the asphalt, you need the perfect shoe – one that is suitable for both the road and the trail. The ideal shoe should combine the lightness and flexibility of a road running shoe with the stability and grip of a trail shoe. This is exactly what offers You the Road-to-Trail series from Craft with its hybrid running shoes.

What Exactly Does Road-to-Trail Mean?
The Road-to-Trail series from Craft combines the best of both worlds. Every runner has individual requirements for their running shoes, but the most important prerequisite when choosing a training shoe is that it is comfortable and offers a pleasant running experience. This includes lightness and the right amount of cushioning.
For trail shoes however, there are many factors that make a good shoe, as well as certain requirements that must be met. A crucial feature is a sole with a strong, deep tread that provides optimal grip on various surfaces – be it on slippery, rocky, muddy, or uneven terrain. Additionally, the shoe should offer stability and against twisting ankles, sharp-edged stones, roots, and other hazards on trails protect. These features of both shoes are combined by Craft in its new series and solves a problem, which affects many runners.
From now on, you no longer have to choose between road or trail, because the new Road-to-Trail running shoes offer lightness and cushioning like a road running shoe, traction and security like a trail running shoe and the freedom to decide for yourself where your run takes you. So if your road shoe slips on trails and a trail shoe slows you down on the road, you need a shoe that supports you on the road, gives you security on light trails, and is light, flexible, and reactive. That's exactly what Craft stands for with its new range of hybrid shoes.

Are there any Disadvantages to Road-to-Trail?
Even if a hybrid running shoe seems like the perfect solution for combination of two passions, there are demands, that this shoe cannot meet. Since this type of running shoe must meet two different ground conditions, it is not as powerful as a specialized trail or road running shoe.
Due to its characteristics as a road running shoe, a hybrid running shoe does not offer enough stability and security on demanding trails with steep ascents, large rock overhangs, heavily rooted forest paths, and/or muddy conditions. These ground conditions require precise navigation and a high degree of shoe stability, which only a specialized trail shoe can offer.
Unfortunately, a hybrid shoe also cannot hold a candle to a specialized road running shoe. Due to its increased weight and its flexibility for runs on light trails, it is not competitive against road running shoes, that give you lightness and speed.
Another relevant factor is that such a hybrid shoe can also be somewhat more expensive than a pure trail or road running shoe. This is because it combines two technologies in one shoe, which on the one hand in the pro duction as well as in development is considerably more complex.
Conclusion
The versatility of a hybrid shoe combines state-of-the-art technology with innovative design and is thus the optimal choice for runners looking for flexibility and performance in different running environments. The choice of a hybrid running shoe depends entirely on individual preferences, the preferred running terrain, and the specific requirements of every runner. So if you want to decide for yourself where your run takes you and are looking for a shoe that is honest, reliable, and durable, the Road- to-Trail series from Craft is perfect for you.
